PARK ST

Public BBQ

This linear reserve in Fitzroy North delivers an authentic neighbourhood barbecue experience alongside Melbourne's tallest swing - a genuine thrill for young adventurers. The covered BBQ area anchors a comprehensive recreational space featuring mature trees and wide grassed areas perfect for family gatherings. The fenced playground proves a parent's dream, complete with donated diggers and trucks that keep children entertained for hours. Basketball enthusiasts will find a half-court, though the plastic nets lack the satisfying rattle of proper chains. Water fountains and ample seating complement the barbecue facilities, while concrete paths weave through sections of open grass. Maintenance proves inconsistent with occasional equipment wear and overflowing bins, though the combination of quality facilities and that remarkable swing creates a compelling destination.
